Job Role: Lead Designer for Falcon Design Build
Location: Avondale Estates, GA (on-site; full-time)
We are an in-town Atlanta design and construction company that creates specific thoughtful design solutions for our clients’ second story addition and home remodeling needs. Role Summary
The Lead Designer is accountable for the successful execution of residential design projects from Design Proposal Acceptance through construction completion. This includes design concepts, design revisions and refinement, managing project schedules, overseeing specialists, permitting, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring a smooth and professional client experience.
High-Level Responsibilities and Expectations
- Drive the architectural vision from schematic design through construction documentation for high-end residential projects
- Manage all phases of design, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and budgets.
- Coordinate closely with internal teams, contractors, engineers, and clients to ensure seamless project execution
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing consistent updates and maintaining strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle
- Maintain comprehensive project records, including photos, video walkthroughs, status updates, and schedules
- Monitor design quality and proactively address issues to uphold the highest standards of craftsmanship and design integrity
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Architecture
- Highly proficient using Autodesk Revit
- 3+ years of experience in architectual design
- Ability to produce comprehensive, build-ready construction documents.
- Strong creative vision with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Time management & organization—balancing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Collaborative mindset; ability to work with cross-disciplinary teams.
- Problem-solving and adaptability in fast-paced project environments.
- Confidence to take ownership of the role and be accountable for outcomes

Required Skills, Knowledge, Experience:
- Possess a thorough working knowledge of processes and best practices for complex residential renovation project management
- Provide evidence of 5 years of direct project management experience.
- Provide evidence of managing projects of $100K or higher.
- Proficiency in English, written and verbal.
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills are necessary to interface effectively at all levels of the organization, with suppliers, and our Clients.
- Fluency in basic computing skills including MS Office and Google Docs. Capable of using these programs to generate required reports and analytical data.
Professional Training, Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher degree completion.
- General Contractor’s Certification – preferred but not required
Other Requirements:
- A stable work history and satisfactory reference are required of all applicants.
- A clean driving record (no DUI or felony driving offenses in past 5 years) is required for this position.
- Possess a pick-up truck as a personal vehicle for periodic use to support project. (car allowance is provided).
- Undergo a background check – results of which will be considered before selection.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for creating the project plan and its reliable/consistent execution.
- Project P&L management
- Client interface – responsible for managing all aspects of the client’s expectations with particular emphasis given to budgeting and scheduling.
- Maintain daily project log sheets and change order requests.
- Perform critical path analysis to provide a means to ensure project is completed on time.
- Attend weekly departmental meetings.
- Lead weekly clients progress report meetings.
- Lead in the development of our project management critical process document
- Mentor and teach our Associate or Junior (less experienced) project managers in project management best practices.
Candidates Who Have These Additional Skills Will Be Given Preference:
